My wife and I worked with Ambrette to create a beautiful original piece. The experience was phenomenal. She took the time to really hear our story and created wonderful artwork that truly captured what we wanted and so much more. Don’t let an opportunity to work with Ambrette pass you by.

When I’m sitting in my studio and look up from the projects at hand, I see the wall of art I have acquired from Ambrette.  The majority of pieces are assemblages comprised of found objects but recently newly created prints have joined the mix. This wall is a source of inspiration and a reminder of the value that ordinary, often discarded objects, bring to art. Ambrette’s work inspires me because of her fresh way of seeing objects that inhabit my world. She recognizes and makes meaningful connections between things that I have failed to imagine.  Her vision is unique. Recently she made a print for me that was based on a memory that has haunted me for many years. As she listened carefully and kindly to my story, I felt her support and acceptance not judgment. The resulting print transformed my residual pain of long ago into positive feelings of peace and acceptance. Through Ambrette’s strong and sensitive imagery, I was able to mend and repair a part of my life that had previously blocked me from honoring how I survived a difficult but significant moment in my life. Last but not least I love giving Ambrette’s jewelry and greeting cards as gifts. She is always willing to customize elements in her designs so that friends and family receiving her works can wear or use images very personal to them.

This afternoon, as I was framing and hanging the print Ambrette made for me, I was reflecting on what a special and unique process led to the creation of this very personal piece of art. I was intrigued when she first told me about her idea to design a process in which a one-on-one conversation with Ambrette as the one listening, and the other person telling a personal story would result in her creating a one-of-a-kind illustration. It sounded like such a wonderful idea, and I really liked the fact that the ultimate purpose was to help someone feel understood, embraced and valued. Later, when I saw the first series of prints, I saw that although the stories remain private, each resulting print has the ability to reach farther and invite the viewer to see a story of their own.  Not long ago I found myself stuck in a dark frame of mind that I just couldn’t seem to clear no matter what I did to get unstuck. Then I remembered the conversation with Ambrette. It seemed like working with her through the story/art process could be the perfect way to get myself out of the dark place and to “reclaim my light.” And that is exactly what happened! It was an amazing experience resulting in a piece of art I absolutely love. Ambrette’s listening and interpretation skills are exceptional, and so heart-felt-exactly what I needed.
